Ovation Arts School is a proposed public charter school set to open in 2027, serving scholars in grades 6 through 12. With a strong focus on the Visual and Performing Arts, the school will integrate a robust Liberal Arts curriculum to cultivate creativity, critical thinking, and academic excellence.

Our proposed service area includes Rockdale, Newton, Henry, DeKalb (Stonecrest), and Walton Counties, ensuring students across these regions have access to vital educational and support services. Who Can Attend the Ovation Arts School?Any student in the state of Georgia is eligible to attend Ovation Arts School. We are open to all students, regardless of background or academic performance, and are committed to providing a high-quality education for every child.

Will Ovation Arts School Offer Transportation?Yes, Ovation Arts School will provide transportation for students through designated stopping points, where families will need to meet one of our buses for pick-up and drop-off. Families are also more than welcome to transport their students to and from school if they prefer.

Where will the School be Located?The Charter Planning Committee is actively researching locations that are centrally located within the service area to best serve our proposed student population. Once a site has been selected and all necessary approvals for occupancy have been obtained, the Planning Committee will make a formal announcement.

Who Authorizes Ovation Arts School?Ovation Arts School is applying to be authorized by the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia. This means we will operate under SCSC’s oversight and are held accountable to meet the state’s academic, operational, and financial standards. Being authorized by SCSC allows Ovation Arts School to operate as a public charter school with flexibility in our curriculum and school model while still adhering to the district’s rigorous standards for educational quality and accountability. The SCSC provides oversight and support to ensure that we meet the needs of our students and community.

What Grades Will Ovation Arts School Serve?In the first year, Ovation Arts School will serve sixth and seventh grades. Our plan is to expand by adding a new grade level each year until we matriculate through 12th grade, ensuring students receive a continuous and progressive educational experience and preparing them for high school graduation.

What is the School Calendar Like?Our non-traditional school operations further distinguish us. With a year-round calendar and a four-day school week, students have the flexibility to pursue deeper learning experiences, engage in hands-on activities, and develop a love for learning both inside and outside the classroom. Each Friday, students enjoy blended asynchronous learning and experiential field studies, allowing them to connect their studies to real-world experiences and grow as independent learners. School will start a 9am and dismiss at 4pm.

Is it Free to Attend Ovation Arts School?Yes, as a public charter school, attendance at Ovation Arts School is free for all students. There are no tuition or fees, and students receive the same state-funded support as traditional public school students.

What is an Authorizer?A charter school authorizer is like a regulatory body that grants a school the charter (or permission) to operate. They hold the school accountable to specific goals, like academic performance and financial management, and ensure that the school is fulfilling its mission and serving students effectively. The authorizer monitors the school's progress and can renew or revoke the charter based on performance. At Ovation Arts School, our authorizer will ensure that we meet the highest standards so your child receives the best education possible. We are applying to the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia.
